New Book Addresses “Myths” about Dispensational Theology

(National PR Wire - September 8, 2008) | Industry and Country : Religious | United States of America

Theological Studies Press is announcing the release of its newest book—“Dispensationalism: Essential Beliefs and Common Myths.” The author, Michael J. Vlach, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor of Theology at The Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley, California.

“Dispensationalism is clearly a popular but controversial system of theology that addresses the relationship between Israel and the church,” says Vlach. “Unfortunately, in all of the debate there have been several faulty misrepresentations about this view that simply need to be addressed.”

That is why Vlach wrote a book explaining the “six essential beliefs” of Dispensationalism and the “five myths” that need to be discarded.

Vlach declares that his book is more concerned with clarifying issues related to Dispensationalism, than a polemic defending this theology.

“I am a dispensationalist myself,” declares Vlach. “But my main goal is to show what Dispensationalism actually believes and to correct common misconceptions people have about it.”

According to Vlach, the book is purposely brief (73 pp.). “I wanted to create a resource that was scholarly and well documented, but also easy to read. This book does not get bogged down in a lot of technical detail. It can be used for personal use or for discussion in a Bible study.”
