Charity fishing tournament kicks off this week in Puerto Vallarta

Anglers will hit the waters of Banderas Bay on the Pacific Coast of Mexico this week to reel in money to help the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Fishing lines hit the water early Friday morning for the 3rd Annual Hook the Cure presented by BJ’s Restaurant Foundation and IOTEC, an official IGFA-sanctioned event of the Redbone Celebrity Tournament Series.

The event kicks off Thursday at Villa Premiere Hotel and Spa in Puerto Vallarta and will feature an auction, sponsored by American Airlines and hosted by Shawn Parr of Los Angeles radio station GO COUNTRY 105FM, to raise money for the Foundation’s patient care and research efforts. Last year the tournament raised over $350,000 NET.

Legendary baseball HOF’er Wade Boggs returns this year as the tournament\’s honorary chair. Bob Huston and Jeff Jennison return as co-chairmen.
