THE ROBERTS HOTELS GROUP PURCHASE HISTORIC HOTEL IN DOWNTOWN JACKSON, MI

United States of America (Press Release) September 3, 2008 — United States of America (Press Release) August 27, 2008 — ATLANTA, GA —August 27, 2008 — The Roberts Hotels Group (RHG) recently announced the purchase of the renowned Edison Whitehall Hotel in Jackson, Mississippi. The 208-room hotel at 225 East Capitol Street has been a gathering place for Jacksonians and visitors since 1928 and an integral part of downtown Jackson\\\\\\\’s history. RHG’s historic purchase of the Walthall happened in less than 24 hours after learning the property was available. The St. Louis based company purchased the 80-year-old property for nearly $4 million dollars from Earl Gaylor, who filed for bankruptcy protection last August.

The Roberts Hotels Group plans to spend $10 million in renovations and change the property\\\\\\\’s name from the Edison Whitehall Hotel to the Roberts Vista Hotel, named after its new owner. The hotel will however, remain open while undergoing renovations. The property is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Jackson, making it ideal for business and leisure travelers. It will also be within walking distance of the new, highly anticipated Capitol City Convention Center.

The Roberts brothers have become staples of the Jackson community. Previously in the running to buy the Standard Life building, the Roberts have both a history and affinity for the Jackson community. The two also own a television station and radio station, WRBJ-TV and WRBJ-FM, in Jackson as well.
